VISION
Iza October intends to revolutionize the Halloween and haunt industries by offering narrative-focused, intersectional, feminist Halloween-inspired artwork. Ranging from small kiln-fired porcelain pieces to full-size animatronic props, Iza October goes beyond the current tired repertoire that features predominantly white characters, women as victims, and thoughtless masculine or patriarchal tropes.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I've loved Halloween my whole life and want to create work where others who aren't typically represented find themselves in all their spooky glory. In challenging the current narratives and tropes, I hope to inspire others to help build a better, more inclusive, and exciting industry.
